Verbal Imaging and Touch Tour

MOBIA welcomes visitors who are blind or partially sighted to participate in a program organized in collaboration with Art Education for the Blind for Art Beyond Sight Awareness Month.  A museum educator will lead a verbal imaging tour of the current exhibition, Sacred Visions:  Nineteenth-Century Biblical Art from the Dahesh Museum Collection.  Following the exhibition tour, a curator, educator, and conservator will share several books from the Rare Bible Collection through a special touch tour.  Objects include a Braille Bible that once belonged to Helen Keller and a Bible with raised letters, an early experimental method of printing for the blind.

Free; registration is suggested but not required. For further information, please call (212) 408-8703 or email
